Dressing Up Your Lululemon Leggings For Fall

The first day of fall has come and gone, we are now officially in the season of leggings!

If you are anything like me, then you pretty much live in your Lululemon leggings all of fall - and probably most of winter. Now I know these leggings are meant to wear, uh working out, but I mostly wear mine around the house, out to grocery shop, girls night in. Basically, anywhere I can get away with wearing them. The only place I never thought I’d wear them to was the office, but when I was pregnant last year that’s exactly what I did. The higher waist that went up over the bump and stretchy material were, oh, so comfortable for my expanding belly. Since I was wearing an extremely casual legging to a place of business a few times a week, this had me getting very creative on disguising these leggings as an actual office appropriate pant. I’m sharing my very simple tips to pull of the business, or a dressier, look with your super comfy fave pair of casual legging. These looks will be perfect for fall and you’ll be looking fab while being oh so freakin’ com-for-ta-ble!

Throw a blazer on it! The blazer is the staple “I’m a professional business person” wardrobe piece. My biggest tip for making your casual legging look dressier is ensuring the top of the ensemble is a longer fit. Make sure that blazer fits a little longer, you’ll want it to cover your booty. I also suggest the shirt you’re pairing underneath your blazer is a looser and longer fit. The longer fit on both pieces helps disguise your bottoms as more of an actual skinny leg pant then your casual legging. Pair with your fave suede fall ankle booties and a long statement piece necklace to complete the outfit.

A longer cut blouse paired with an above the knee leather boot! The less of the legging exposed the better you’ll pull off that professional or dressier outfit! Animal print is huge this fall so you won’t have any trouble recreating this exact look with your own fave legging.

Vests are the perfect summer to fall transition piece, lucky for us they are also the perfect piece for creating a more polished look when paired with your Lulu’s! Your outfit will be more dressy looking if you opt for a non cotton vest. I find a cotton vest to be a bit more casual, especially when paired with a legging. Since the bottom of your outfit is super casual, you want to try and dress up the top of your ensemble as much as possible. Adding statement necklaces to the look, a belt around the waist, statement earrings and a nice bright lippie!

Wooly tops scream fall, a high low wooly turtleneck is the perfect top for your casual legging. The one I’m sporting has slits on either side which allows your figure to still stand out and not get swallowed up by the overly long and loose fit of the turtleneck. I love the duo of olive green paired with a tanned shoe for fall. To dress this ensemble up go with high heeled ankle bootie or an above the knee boot in tan. Accessorize with gold jewelry and a nice chocolatey brown lip.

The ironic thing is, your comfiest leggings are going to actually take you out of your comfort zone for outfit creating! Can’t wait to hear, or even see, what looks you come up with!
