THE CASUAL BLAZER
If you’ve been following my blog, you’ll know my love for the blazer. I’m also pretty sure I’m not alone in this love affair. The blazer really should be a staple piece in any closet, it’s the most effortless main piece to build any outfit around. I wear my blazer’s very often in my professional life and also love incorporating them into my non-professional life. Personally this is a look I like to sport in the fall or spring, when I can substitute a blazer as a coat.
Depending on the season, the colour of my blazer changes. This also goes for my secondary outfit pieces, as well as their materials and styles. In the fall I tend to gravitate to a darker coloured blazer and denim. My main fall/winter blazer is usually black and I love to pair it with a black ripped jean, dark denim or my army green skinnies. I’m not a big enough fan for my own pair of green army pant but for those who are, how cute would a black blazer paired with your army pant be for fall? Soooo, cuuuu-te! I prefer completing my fall look with a flat black or darker tanned ankle bootie, or a bootie with a very low heal. With spring comes warmer weather, which always provides more wardrobe options! I always go for a beautiful pastel or light coloured blazer, like my fave blush pink, paired with a light or ripped denim. Underneath your blazer you can sport a cute graphic tee, crop top or lace detailed tank top. Don’t have a tank with lace detail? Get yourself a bralette under a looser fitting tank.
Two of my favourite reasons for putting together my casual chic blazer look in spring are the accessories and then the shoes! Since you get to start showing a little more skin because of the warmer temperatures you can pull out all your fun summer jewels. They are no longer hidden under scarves, long sweaters or jackets. Can I get a “woot woot” for accessories! My favourite accessory for any casual chic look are my collection of beautiful healing stone bracelets. If I’m feeling extra flirty chic I’ll throw on a chunky neon or pastel necklace.
As I said spring and summer bring out more fun options for your wardrobe, and this also includes the shoes! You can complete your outfit with a cute spring coloured flat, or if you are me a brightly coloured floral flat. I actually saw a pair like this in Walmart that I’m still lusting over. Which we all know means I’ll end up back there to buy them. Anyone else guilty of this? I’m also obsessed with the suede sneaker and block white sole, which I chose to pair with the look featured in this blog post. This look is perfect for a casual girls lunch or all day shopping trip. Have a bridal shower to go to? Swap out the graphic tee with the pretty tank and a cute flat or mule. Like I said, this outfit is so effortless when you have such an easy main piece to create your look around.
I’ve found similar looks below, but the t-shirt, blazer and shoes can all be found at H&M.
Stay casual & chic!
