I'M A 9 TO 5’er.
Everyone knocks the “9-5”, especially on Instagram.
It’s all about being your own boss, pursuing your dreams and so on. I get it and I’m not knocking it down, but I also don’t think we need to knock down the 9 to 5 jobs either.
If it wasn’t for my 9 to 5 I wouldn’t have a lot of things I do, and I’m not just talking monetary things.
I’ve had the pleasure of traveling the world thanks to my 9 to 5, and experiencing different cultures and creating amazing moments in my life. Moments that last a lifetime.
My 9 to 5 helped make me a more confident person, and less shy about speaking my mind. Probably something my fellow 9 to 5’ers would like less of from me!
I’ve gained long lasting friendships thanks to my job. People I sometimes share more with than my closest non 9 to 5 friends.
My 9 to 5 gives me structure day to day and stability.
It helped me perfect my organization skills, something I pride myself on.
My 9 to 5 taught me to be more adaptable to changes, be able to work with differing personalities and how to solve conflicts.
My job has taught me perspective, what’s important in life and what’s not worth getting worked up about.
I know all the things I’ve listed can be gained as an entrepreneur too, but is there the need to put down the 9 to 5 when talking about entrepreneur life? I think we can appreciate the differences of both on this platform, as well as acknowledge their similarities.
