THREE FUN FALL DATE IDEAS
Fall is the season of my wedding anniversary. Yes, the girl who is obsessed and can’t get over summer got married in the fall. I cheated though, it was a destination wedding in the Caribbean so it was still hot as hell and sunny! In honour of my anniversary “month”, I’ve come up with three fun date ideas you can do with your “love bug” in the fall! You know me, I’m all about spending my hard earned money towards experiences so no surprise my date ideas are about making the most out of your date night, or day!
Butterfly Conservatory
This is for the couple who are mourning summer, like me, and are looking to hold on to those warm days and beautiful summer vibes. There are two I know of, the more popular one in Niagara and another one in Cambridge. For me the conservatory brings back memories of my Caribbean wedding, the humid temperatures, the pretty greenery and the beautiful fluttering butterflies all around. All that’s missing is the sand and the ocean! This is a great way to make the best of one of those first (of many) cold grey fall days or a rainy day date. Not to mention it’s the perfect backdrop for some cute date photos to share on the gram! Or of just yourself, just make sure to tag your Instagram boyfriend or husband as the photographer, ok?
Fall Foliage Hike
Maybe you are someone who actually enjoys fall? Maybe the temperatures don’t drop so much where you live? A few years back, on a particularly balmy anniversary date my husband and I went out on a hike and got to see the beautiful colours of the changing leaves. This date idea is great for the active couple who love getting outside or couples on a tighter budget. Most conservation parks are free of charge, or at a very minimal cost. You can check out this handy “fall colour peak guide” on the Ontario Parks website to maximize the most out of your date hike! http://www.ontarioparks.com/fallcolour
I’m not sure what it’s like in your relationship, but in mine the mister loves the beer and I prefer the wine. This can be tricky for the two of us to experience a nice tour of a winery, for moi, and/or a brewery for him. In sweeps a cidery tour to save your date crisis, and possibly relationship! If you don’t already know ciders come in a variety of flavours, some are sweet (great for me) and some more tarte or dry (great for mister). If you live in and around the GTA I highly suggest visiting Spirit Tree Cidery in Caledon. They have drop in tours on the weekend for only $7 a person, which include 3 tastings and a tour of their orchards and production facilities. I visited in the winter, but can only imagine how pretty the grounds would be during the fall foliage. You can also swing by earlier or stay after the tour for a nice little lunch or early dinner at their cute little restaurant. Not into a full meal, sip your fave cider at their rustic bar or enjoy some yummy homemade desserts! A perfect Saturday date!
What’s your favourite thing to do on date night? Do you switch up your date ideas to coordinate with the seasons? I’d love to hear what you and yours get up to on date night, or date day!
