MY TOP 5 CELEB OUTFITS 2021 EDITION
I think it’s safe to say we all know I love fashion and there ain’t nothing like celebrity fashion. From bold choices, sometimes questionable, to elegantly understated glam, 2021 was definitely the return of red carpet fashion which made my little heart happy. There were some amazing outfits this year and if I’m being honest I literally just went with the first 5 celebs who popped into my head as my top 5. It would have been to hard otherwise and the way I see it, these 5 popped into my head because I really enjoyed them and they are deserving of being highlighted in a post.
Hannah Waddingham at the Emmy’s
I didn’t even know who Hannah was at the time of the Emmy’s but was absolutely gobsmacked by her look. The colour was bold and paired amazingly with her toned tanned arms and bleach blonde up do. The dress was elegant with the fabric choice but the colour and style made it sexy and modern. I absolutely love the sort of corset type style around the chest and the dress fit her curves as if it was made for her. Which, Hollywood, it probably was custom made for her.
Billie Ellish at the Met Gala
To me this dress felt very old school Hollywood glam, with the soft light fabric and sweet blonde bob. There’s nothing not to love about this look, all the tulle, the soft buttery colour of the dress, the sexy off the shoulder neckline and THAT endless train. It also shows Billie’s diversity in style, she looks great in her stage clothes but also amazing in formal clothes. I love diverse style and Billie can really pull it off.
Zendaya at, well, every red carpet appearance in 2021.
Honestly this whole post could have been dedicated to Zendaya’s 2021 looks. Imagine being her stylist, they must absolutely be in heaven as she seems game for wearing any ensemble and then absolutely kills it. Only 25 and already a fashion icon. I don’t know anyone who wasn’t obsessed Zendaya this year and could pick just one of her looks as their favourite. Go ahead and try!
Jason Sudeikis at the Emmy’s
The only dude to make my top 5, I just absolutely LOVED the velvet suit and bow tie. Men’s fashion is so boring at awards shows, it’s variations of the same black suit. Jason could have gone black velvet but my man went with a dark turquoise colouring and that’s what drew me to his Emmy look. I’m not sure I’ve ever thought of Jason Sudeikis as handsome but I definitely was thinking differently after this look.
Vanessa Kirby at the Oscars
Ok, maybe if I had to pick ONE favourite look of 2021, Vanessa’s Oscar look would it. This look, like Billie’s at the Met Gala, gave me old Hollywood glam vibes. Her dark lip at first I hated, but the more I saw pictures of her the more I absolutely loved the dark lip choice. It’s a gorgeous contrast to her light locks, skin and dress colour. The dress itself was a work of art, I mean that little cutout in the front, the very deep v-neck and how the train comes almost from the cutout back and forms an almost little cape for the dress. Just such a stunning piece of fashion.
That’s my “popped into my head” top 5 fashion looks of 2021. Really hoping for more red carpet moments in 2022, because yes some might say being obsessed with celebrity fashion is pointless and superficial but it’s a simple little thing that makes me happy. It also seems to make a lot of other people happy because whenever I share reviews of red carpets and do polls on my Instagram stories they seem to be the most popular in terms of conversation. Everyone has something to input when it comes to red carpet fashion and I love just chatting to people.
