SPRING OOTD - TIERED MINI & YELLOW
This fun flower mini is a prime example of why sometimes you just gotta hold on to items in your closet, even if they’ve gone out of style for a couple of years.
I purchased this skirt when I was in my early 20’s, it’s from Costa Blanca. Who remember’s Costa Blanca? I actually think Costa Blanca eventually turned into what we now know as Dynamite. Anyways, that’s how old this mini is, and how long I’ve had it in my fashion rotation. Honestly, pretty impressive quality for fast fashion as it’s still in great condition after all these years. I’ve kept this little mini because I find it super flattering. My hips have always been an insecurity and I find the tiered style of the skirt hides that insecurity. The bonus is it’s both high and stretchy waisted, and because the flowers are in multiple colours it goes great with any top! Black, white, grey, even a mauve and then finally of course my fave, yellow, which I chose to wear for this outfit post.
From what I saw scrolling American Eagle’s website the other day, tiered little mini’s like this ol’ faithful are in for spring again. Also, you can’t lose with anything that has a flower pattern. Flower patterns are ALWAYS in for spring and summer, so just sleep on getting rid of any flower patterned item before fully committing.
This entire outfit was completely inspired by these gorgeous yellow hand me down heels. My friend knows my love of yellow and I was her go to person for asking if I wanted them. Also, I’m probably the only other person who has feet as small as her.
This is the perfect little ensemble for stepping into those, slowly but surely, warmer temperatures we are enjoying.
What are your feelings on yellow? Hate it, love it, feeling inspired?
What about flower patterns?
Would you still sport a mini, especially if it was a complimentary fitting one like this tiered mini?
