SUMMER 2021’S STAPLE OUTFIT
This simple, yet somehow incredibly chic look, is thee outfit of the summer. Basically everyone and their sister is sporting it this year, probably because it’s just so damn easy breezy and comfortable. You can wear this out (hot mom) grocery shopping, brunching on a patio, going for a day trip with the family, grabbing coffee to go, a casual evening walk, going to the park with your toddler.
The great thing about this outfit is it doesn’t have to break the bank to put it all together. My summer staple look cost me $100 and every item but the crop top I grabbed from Walmart.
I’ve always been a fan of George items at Walmart and more recently their partner clothing lines. I own a lot of the Athletic Mode active wear from Walmart and saw this pair of black bike shorts in the same material as a pair of my fave crop active pant. At $15 what is there to lose, so I grabbed them and was super happy with how they fit once home. They are VERY high waisted and not constricting on the waist or thighs. Highly recommend, unless you aren’t into that sparkly type material. I personally love that sparkle.
My crop is also an active wear item, from Joe Fresh. Most of the time I actually do do wear this crop for working out but I love it so much I’m down for sporting it in a non-workout look. Also, you should know by now I’m a big fan of maximizing every piece in my closet and that includes active wear when I can!
Normally this sporty look is made chic with a linen white button up, but honestly I hate linen. Like, I love the way it looks and am into clothing items made of linen but I hate how wrinkled it gets instantly and then I never end up wearing a linen item I buy. Basically buying a linen item is a waste of money for me. This white button up sort of resembles linen and is still super light weight that it can be worn in the summer months. I accidentally stumbled upon it at Walmart of course and it’s actually an Ellen Degeneres clothing item. I had no idea she was “making’ clothes or that Walmart was selling them. Anyways, it’s meant to be a more form fitting style so I bought it in a large to give it that oversized feeling.
I decided on white runners to wrap my full look up but any shoe style works here. Cute black trainers, Birkenstocks, black or white slip ons, strappy sandals. I picked the white runners because it kept the look coordinated with black and white and I love matchy, matchy. Again, these runners were found just before the last strict lockdown at Walmart and are Mexx brand. They are adorable and super comfy. I often wear without socks and no blister issues.
I added the hat because it’s my current summer fave and the sunglasses because, duh, summer. Both items are from Joe Fresh.
I totally failed in capturing a picture of this outfit on, but you’re either reading this post because of the reel I posted and if not, you can see the full look on here.
