SPRING OUTFIT 3 - CANADIAN TUXEDO
Ok, not going to lie but I can’t even recall if I’ve ever sported a Canadian Tuxedo in my life. Maybe as a child, but definitely not as an adult. Does that make me a bad Canadian?
I usually wear this hand-me down denim button up open, with a tshirt or tank underneath, and almost always pair it with a pair of leggings. Even if I sport a jean jacket, it’s usually with a legging or non-denim pant. It could be because sometimes I find different shades of denim just clash and look like a bit of a sloppy outfit versus a put together one?
In this case I lucked out in that the shade of blue my button up denim is in almost matches perfectly with my Levi skinny’s. Also, I don’t know why it took me so long to invest in Levis, *cough* cheapskate *cough*, but I’ll never buy any other brand of blue jean. I wish I had know sooner how well they fit and complimented my shape. I cringe at the amount of money I’ve wasted on jeans that never complimented my body properly and I just gave away. There are just some items in your closet that you shouldn’t cheap out on and take it from me, jeans are one of those items.
Now because I’m not used to sporting a full denim look, I broke up this cute spring outfit with one of the big trends of 2021. The oversize corduroy shirt or the shacket. Honestly, it depends what store you are shopping at and what they dub it. I was super excited, and am such a sucker for deals, when I found this shacket on Zara’s website for only $20, originally almost $80! It is an “in trend” neutral shade and will literally go with every and any outfit. To wrap the whole spring outfit up, I chose gloss rubber Chelsea style booties in the same creamy colour as the shacket. I’ve always been on the safer side of ensuring an outfit matches and this final touch makes my little matchy heart happy.
Such a fun fresh spring look and I loved that it combined a classic, the Canadian Tuxedo, with some of the trends for this spring. I think everyone should invest in both a denim button up and a shacket in a neutral colour. Both items are so easy to wear with any outfit for all four seasons in Canada.
Would you like more outfit inspiration for both the denim button up and the shacket? Let me know and I’ll happily oblige!
